Our mission is to provide safe and reliable elevators for Africa while remaining fully committed to sustainable job creation, valuing our staff and their families as much as we value our customers.
Our vision is to form partnerships with dozens of lift installers across the African continent, consistently growing our reach and manufacturing capacity and creating sustainable employment opportunities for hundreds of people across the continent.
Wesant Manufacturing was founded in 1995 in Digby Wareing’s garage. Digby initially manufactured goods hoist components at home and gradually grew his manufacturing capacity until he ran an entire factory producing complete goods hoists, dumbwaiters, platform lifts and passenger lifts. Digby remained the head of the company until he retired in 2009 after successfully grooming his son Wade to take over the business. Wesant has continued to grow since then, presently occupying 1550m² of industrial space in Westmead, KZN. Wesant now employs 30 full time staff and has manufactured well over 1 000 lifts to date.
Wesant has recently shifted its focus beyond South Africa’s borders to unlock further growth and create employment opportunities. Managing Director Wade Wareing consistently emphasises the critical importance of sustainable job creation and this continues to guide the future of the company. Wesant is actively seeking partnerships with elevator sales and installation companies throughout Africa, aiming for dozens of lasting relationships across the continent within the next decade.
